You're too amazing to be held back, especially by your own self.
The Brave Fear Retreat is designed to help you reframe your mindset, uncover what matters most to you, revive your spirit, and accept your story so you can pursue your passions with confidence.
This is a safe space to share who you are, connect with other like-minded women and embrace your fears.
Okay, lady... let's talk.
When's the last time you gave yourself a break?
You know, the kind of break where you could sit on a porch enjoying the view for hours on end being completely uninterrupted if you so choose.
The kind of break where you're not consistently beating yourself up for all the things you should be doing, and instead relishing some space to simply dream and be.
The kind of break where you get inspired, feel creative and feel the freedom to do what you want and learn more about yourself.
What if you could transform your limiting mindset
(that one that doesn’t budge, no matter how much you dwell on it) into an undying belief in yourself?
What if you could take brave action on your seemingly unreachable goals?
What if the only thing standing between you and your crazy dreams is that you were blind to what you’re truly capable of? (hint: it’s more than you can imagine)
What if inspired rest was exactly what you need to change your life?
and I want to help you unwrap that sucker and take it by the reigns, because IT. IS. YOURS.
how are we gonna do that exactly?

Fear entered my life at the young age of 6. That was when I discovered the world wasn’t safe. Domestic violence, in the form of physical, mental and emotional abuse, was what I faced every day for years. Wicked Stepmothers, careless Father’s, and the most evil villain of all… FEAR, wasn’t some fairytale story, it was my reality.
Even after the abuse stopped, FEAR didn’t. I was paralyzed by extreme anxiety and panic and was undiagnosed with Complex PTSD, which I discovered later in life and in therapy. I suffered through an eating disorder and such debilitating panic that I couldn’t do much of anything and I was withering away from lack of nutrition.
But before all seems hopeless, let me tell you...this is when it gets good. It was through these experiences that BRAVE FEAR was born.
I still struggle with FEAR. I still have an anxiety and panic disorder. Some things can still trigger my PTSD. But now… I AM BRAVE FEAR. I’ve taught my fear how to be brave, I’ve embraced and redefined what fear means to me. I take Brave Fear action on a regular basis. It’s the reason you’re even on this site reading this story.
And now, I want to share Brave Fear with you. I want everyone to know that we all have Brave Fear within us, that WE ARE BRAVE FEAR and let that be our rallying war cry. That no matter what you’ve been through and experienced, from the extreme to the mundane, YOU ARE BRAVE FEAR. And you are capable of so much more than you realize.

You’ll unearth limiting beliefs and fears that are holding you back
You'll identify what it is you really want (not what you think you should want)
You'll set brave action steps to get you shattering those blocks so you can hold hands with your fear and move forward into the greatness you’ve always had inside of you.
The upcoming Brave Fear Retreat is three days and three nights from October 6-9, 2020. We'll be staying in a luxury home on the beautiful Lake Norman in North Carolina.
Where to begin... You get 3 full days and nights of valuable sessions, workshops, deep discussions, great connections, delicious and (mostly) nutritious food <wink>, time to simply be quiet and process all you've learned, plus clarity for what matters most to you and the confidence to pursue it with Brave Fear.
In addition to that, you get all of your meals taken care of (that's 8 full meals you simply get to enjoy without the cooking or clean-up), a beautiful lakeside mansion to stay in and your own bed (you may share a room, but you won't have to share a bed), a creatively styled Brunch to kick off the retreat and a thoughtfully curated dinner on our last night together. Plus, a heaping handful of thoughtfully curated surprises and goodies for you to take home (don't forget to leave room in your bag when packing)!
This is your safe space... I want you to come as you are (there are no pretenses here) and join us for what’s sure to be a fun Fall refresh, relationship building, learning and intentional time with other creative women. During our time together you’ll rekindle your passion, wonder and creativity while you BRAVE FEAR with hands-on workshops, deep group discussions and dedicated Q&A time with guest speakers. You’ll learn more about your fears, how they hold you back and more importantly, how you can move forward. You’ll walk away with a newfound support group (in other words new friends), a new perspective and a plan of action to pursue what matters most to you. Plus, new goodies you’ll need to fit into you suitcase, so be sure to leave some room. <wink>
Be prepared for a cozy environment on Lake Norman. (Temperatures vary so bring layers that you can add or remove, plus a swimsuit for the jacuzzi)

CLT - Charlotte International Airport is about 30-45 minutes away (depending on traffic) from our accommodations and offers connecting flights to most major airports. You will be able to rent a car, grab a taxi or arrange a pickup with a private car service like Uber. I highly encourage you to carpool with other attendees if possible to cut costs! There will be a Facebook group for you to get to know, connect and make carpool arrangements with the other women who are attending ahead of time.

Please plan to arrive by 12pm EST on October 6th in order to prepare for an afternoon and evening of festivities! Our closing ceremonies dinner will close the retreat on the evening of October 9th. I recommend making arrangements to travel home the morning of October 10th; however, if you need to leave before then, I’d suggest making arrangements for after 8:30pm on October 9th.
You’ll be nice and cozy in a luxury lakeside home through Airbnb. We’ll have a mix of shared rooms with either private double beds or single beds, or private rooms with queen or king beds (private rooms are available first come, not guaranteed, first served for a nominal fee of $250).
Everyone will have their own bed. To be honest, you won't spend much time your room, besides for sleeping, but if you are a light sleeper, and plan on sharing a room, please bring earplugs or some other method for helping you sleep.
*Please Note: If you choose to upgrade to a private room, please select that option during check out. These rooms are not guaranteed and will vary in availability depending on the rental home. Rooms will be given first come, first served and a refund will be provided to you if a private room is unavailable by the time of your retreat.
There isn't one! Personally, I'll be wearing cozy PJ like clothes each day and my infamous turquoise robe will also probably make an appearance. Just sayin'. I want you to wear what makes you feel comfortable, confident and beautiful! The Brave Fear Retreat is all about taking some time to truly dive deep and refresh your soul and perspective on life, so please feel free to wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. The weather on the lake in October is usually between 72° / 50°. We may have sunny or rainy days depending on the weather feels that day. ;) So no matter what, bring layers.
In order to keep the atmosphere as intimate as possible, registration is limited to 10 attendees. If you add in our guest speakers, private chef, house Mama Vickey (aka my real Mom), and myself this cozy number allows us to truly invest in one another, build lasting relationships and tailor our conversations specifically to your unique needs.
